Public transport and regular scheduled traffic

Regular traffic service open to all

This subpage contains targeted instructions for saving and publishing regular scheduled traffic that is open to all in the FINAP service. Regular scheduled traffic includes, for example, traditional local public transport and train traffic. Regular traffic may also include different seasonal ferry connections and other similar services.

Save the regular traffic service’s data and attach up-to-date information on routes, timetables and stops, along with other required information, as a file or interface. To create route and timetable data for different journey planner services, we also offer a “RAE service” (a route and timetable editor) in cooperation with Traficom. The data content of this service can be included in the public transport service published in FINAP. With regard to maritime and waterborne traffic, FINAP supports the identification of ports and quays and the digitisation of regular waterborne traffic as part of the MeriRAE function. The MeriRAE tool allows you to publish the contact details of waterborne traffic as GTFS data compatible with journey planners.

The route and timetable editor allows authorities or operators to digitise regular scheduled traffic and publish their data nationally to be used in, e.g., journey planners. Route and timetable data will also be used in ticket and payment systems, for example. You can find the RAE tool in an external service.
