The FINAP service’s instructions and terms of use

The Traffic Management Company Fintraffic maintains and operates the FINAP service. The service is intended for the publication and digitisation of traffic services’ essential information. These services include public transport, taxi and train traffic and brokering services. The parties responsible for traffic services, such as authorities and companies, publish “essential information” in FINAP. In addition to basic information on companies and services, these include routes, timetables, stops, service areas, service hours, prices and developer interfaces. Opening and sharing of information is based on domestic (e.g., https://www.finlex.fi/en/laki/kaannokset/2017/en20170320) and EU legislation and regulations (e.g., (https://eur-lex.europa.eu/eli/reg_del/2017/1926/oj).

The FINAP service provides traffic sector companies and authorities with information on the national and local collection of different transport services. The service also provides access to the interfaces published by the operators in the catalogue or to the operator's interface services, which include more information on their services’ terms of use. The goal is to open the data content of traffic services at the Finnish and European level and to support the development of networked services in the sector.

This website contains up-to-date and updated instructions for joining the FINAP service and for saving service information. The majority of the instructions are downloadable PDF files. The plan is to upload instruction videos when updating the instructions to facilitate the use of important functions.
