Traffic Management Finland and its subsidiaries to be renamed – from now on, we will be known as Fintraffic

The names of Traffic Management Finland Ltd and its subsidiaries (Air Navigation Services Finland Ltd, Finrail Ltd, Vessel Traffic Services Finland Ltd and Intelligent Traffic Management Finland Ltd) will change as of 1 Jan 2021. The group¨s official name will be Traffic Management Company Fintraffic Ltd.

“Finns need our traffic management services and the traffic data we generate in their everyday lives, every hour of the day. During the first two years of this Group, we have had much feedback about our company names being too complicated. We have acted on this feedback. We want to become more relevant and more familiar to Finnish households and businesses and also to our international partners, and therefore we are revising the way in which we communicate with our stakeholders,” says Pertti Korhonen, CEO of Fintraffic.

Fintraffic is adopting a new logo and visual identity to communicate the role of the company as a transport developer and coordinator. The new logo based on the letter F has three layers, reflecting the structure of the transport system: the bottom layer is the infrastructure, the middle layer is transport data, and the top layer is end user services. All layers are needed in a competitive transport system, and the layers must work seamlessly together. The role of the digital layer as a transmitter of information will become increasingly important in the transport system in the future.

“The countries that can best achieve data transmission between vehicles, infrastructure, travel services and logistics services will be able to leverage transport the most effectively to benefit households, businesses and society at large. We hope to be able to provide as much benefit for Finland as possible,” says Korhonen.

Fintraffic aims to work in close cooperation with stakeholders to create the world’s safest, smoothest and most environmentally friendly transport system in Finland.

“Harmonising the names of the Group companies illustrates our striving for uniform operating procedures. Among other things, we are reducing the number of different information systems that we use. This will improve the efficiency and feasibility of our work by clarifying our practices.”

The new names of the companies in the Group all contain the word Fintraffic, with a description of their function, in Finnish, Swedish and English. The name change will have no impact on their operations.
