Appointments at Traffic Management Finland: Hanna Hovi as HR Director and Sanna Reponen as Development Director

The coronavirus has transformed our lives in a short period of time. No one could have foreseen the current situation even just a short while ago. Effects on traffic have also been significant.

During its first year of operations, Traffic Management Finland (TMF) has taken care of its core tasks in the control of maritime, road, railway and air traffic with confidence, while also strengthening the supply and usability of the traffic data offered by the company.

Information about the travel restrictions and their practical impacts on railway traffic is available nationwide through the passenger information services by means of display and PA systems at railway stations and platforms as well as on mobile services.

ANS Finland is adjusting its operations due to restrictions resulting from the coronavirus epidemic. The flight cancellations due to the coronavirus have altered the demand for air navigation services and the workload has been substantially reduced.

Traffic Management Finland (TMF) and Solita have intensified their cooperation in creating new traffic services.

The instructions and recommendations by the authorities to prevent the spread of the coronavirus are currently widely reflected in travel and traffic volumes throughout Finland.

Due to the impacts of coronavirus, Air Navigation Services Finland Oy (ANS Finland) will begin cooperation negotiations.

The Board of Directors of Traffic Management Finland Ltd has selected Pertti Korhonen as the group’s CEO as of 9 March 2020. Korhonen was the chair of the Board of Directors of Traffic Management Finland in 2019, and he has been the acting CEO since 27 August 2019.

Climate change is a proven fact. Global warming has caused serious changes to the planet, such as rising sea levels, extreme weather events, deforestation and the extinction of species. However, as individuals or organizations, we can slow down global warming by implementing more sustainable actions within our own communities.

Traffic Management Finland will participate in the Transport Research Arena TRA2020 conference, which will be held in Helsinki in April, bringing international experts in transport and mobility to the city. As many as 3,000 visitors are expected to take part in the event.

Traffic Management Finland has published a new version of its popular Traffic Situation (‘Liikennetilanne’) app. New features include more detailed information on road traffic conditions and changing signage. The service also provides information on real-time railway schedules.
